Overview

Amazon is hiring a Senior Mobility Terminal System Engineer to develop mobile terminal architecture for their LEO initiative. You'll work with RF, firmware, and DSP technologies in Redmond. This role requires expertise in mobile systems integration and validation.

Who you are

You have extensive experience in systems engineering, particularly in mobile terminal architecture, with a strong background in RF, firmware, and DSP technologies. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring that all aspects of terminal integration are addressed. You are skilled in designing trade-offs for various terminal architectures, utilizing performance simulations to inform your decisions. Your proactive engagement with both internal and external partners ensures that hardware and software architectures meet the highest standards. You are comfortable with in-field and on-orbit validation processes, demonstrating your ability to adapt to various environments and challenges.

Desirable

Experience with satellite communication systems or broadband technologies is a plus. Familiarity with aviation, maritime, and automotive terminal validation processes will enhance your contributions to the team. You are also open to traveling up to 10% of the time, depending on project needs.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing the mobile terminal architecture that supports Amazon's LEO initiative. You will collaborate closely with sub-system engineers across various disciplines, including electrical, RF, antenna, thermal, modem, DSP, and firmware. Your work will involve designing trade-offs for terminal architectures and conducting RF and performance simulations to support these decisions. You will also develop a mobility lab to validate aviation, maritime, and automotive terminals in both lab environments and with LEO satellites. Engaging with development partners, you will ensure that all systems meet technical, functional, performance, regulatory, and business requirements. Your role will also include performing in-field and on-orbit validation with satellites, contributing to the overall success of the LEO initiative.
