Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in hardware engineering, particularly in the development of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) and consumer electronics. Your expertise includes working with phased array antennas and commercial PCB processes, allowing you to contribute effectively to innovative projects. You understand the complexities of hardware design and how it impacts various downstream partners, including operations and supply chain.
You are a collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments. You have experience leading projects from concept through to functional and environmental testing, ensuring that all aspects of the hardware meet the required specifications. Your strong judgment skills enable you to make high-value decisions that balance tactical and strategic needs.
You possess a deep understanding of how hardware interacts with software and other components, allowing you to communicate effectively with silicon, RF, and mechanical teams. Your ability to navigate complex technical challenges makes you a valuable asset to any engineering team.
Desirable
Experience with satellite communications or broadband technologies is a plus, as is familiarity with the unique challenges of developing hardware for low Earth orbit applications. You are comfortable with rapid prototyping and iterative design processes, which are essential in a fast-paced development environment.
What you'll do
As a Senior Hardware Development Engineer at Amazon, you will lead the design and development of consumer terminals for the LEO initiative. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to define the architecture and specifications for the hardware. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the PCBA, from initial design through to testing and integration.
