Overview

Amazon is hiring a Systems Development Engineer for their Antenna System Validation team. You'll develop tools for antenna RF performance and implement DSP FPGA firmware. This position requires experience in programming and systems integration.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in systems development engineering, particularly in the context of antenna systems. Your experience includes working with phased array antennas and you are familiar with the design and implementation of software systems for validation and testing. You possess programming skills in modern languages such as Python, C++, and C#, and have a solid understanding of DSP and FPGA firmware development. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize validation and verification processes, and you have experience in automating and supporting large-scale infrastructure.

You are detail-oriented and have a knack for developing tools that characterize RF and system performance. Your ability to support electrical and software bring-up, along with debugging new hardware, makes you a valuable asset to any team. You understand the importance of environmental testing for phased array antennas and are eager to contribute to the success of innovative projects.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing software systems that validate and test phased array antennas. You will develop tools that characterize antenna RF and system performance, ensuring that the systems meet high standards of reliability and efficiency. Your work will involve creating software and test automation to support production test stations, which is critical for the successful deployment of Amazon Leo's satellite network.

You will collaborate closely with various functional groups to design and implement optimized validation and verification software. This includes planning and executing environmental test activities for phased array antennas, which are essential for ensuring their performance in real-world conditions. Additionally, you will implement DSP FPGA firmware to translate high-level algorithms from MATLAB or C into architecture-specific code, enhancing the functionality of the systems you work on.

Your role will also involve supporting the electrical and software bring-up of new hardware, which requires a strong understanding of both hardware and software integration. You will be expected to automate processes and support large-scale infrastructure, contributing to the overall efficiency of the team and the success of Amazon Leo's mission to provide reliable internet connectivity.
