Amazon is hiring a Senior Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to lead safety initiatives in their logistics operations. You'll be responsible for developing safety plans and ensuring compliance with WHS policies across various locations in Japan. This role requires strong leadership and safety management skills.

Job Description

Who you are

You have extensive experience in workplace health and safety management, particularly in logistics or similar environments. Your background includes developing and implementing safety plans that address unique WHS situations, such as emergency responses and ergonomic considerations. You are adept at analyzing safety data and identifying potential risks to create effective preventive measures. Your leadership skills enable you to guide teams in adhering to WHS policies and ensuring a safe working environment for all associates.

You are familiar with compliance requirements and can conduct thorough audits to ensure that all safety standards are met. Your ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including site leaders and external partners, allows you to foster a culture of safety within the organization. You are committed to continuous improvement and are always looking for ways to enhance safety protocols and training programs.

What you'll do

As the Senior WHS Manager, you will lead the development of safety plans tailored to specific operational needs, ensuring that all safety measures are in place during peak times and emergency situations. You will oversee the compliance with Amazon's WHS policies and provide guidance to teams on best practices. Your role will involve collecting and analyzing accident and hazard information to implement corrective actions and preventive measures effectively.

You will collaborate with various departments to establish mid-term and annual safety goals, conducting gap analyses to identify areas for improvement. Your responsibilities will also include auditing workplace behaviors and training programs to ensure consistency and effectiveness. You will be on-site at various locations, including Ibaraki, Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara, to monitor safety practices and provide support to site leaders and associates.
