Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in machine learning and data science, with at least 5 years of experience applying advanced algorithms to real-world problems. Your expertise in Python allows you to build and deploy machine learning models effectively, ensuring they perform well in production environments. You understand the intricacies of model training, evaluation, and optimization, and you are comfortable working with large datasets to extract meaningful insights.
You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and software engineers. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is a key strength, enabling you to drive alignment and understanding across the organization. You thrive in an environment where you can mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall growth of the team.
Your passion for innovation drives you to stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in machine learning and AI. You are eager to apply state-of-the-art techniques to enhance user experiences and improve product offerings. You are also comfortable with cloud technologies and have experience deploying models in scalable environments.
Desirable
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is a plus, as is familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker. Knowledge of data engineering practices and tools will further enhance your ability to contribute to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the development of machine learning models that improve the homeowner-pro search ranking on Angi's platform. You will work on leveraging predictive models to enhance the consumer experience, ensuring that the solutions you create are both effective and efficient. Your responsibilities will include designing experiments to validate model performance, analyzing results, and iterating on your approaches based on feedback and data.
You will collaborate closely with the platform team to ensure seamless integration of machine learning models into the existing infrastructure. This involves working on deployment strategies that prioritize low latency and high performance, allowing for a smooth user experience. You will also be responsible for monitoring model performance post-deployment and making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal functionality.
As a technical leader, you will guide the team in best practices for machine learning development, including code reviews and architectural discussions. Your insights will help shape the direction of the team's projects and influence the overall strategy for machine learning at Angi.
