Security Engineer • Senior

Who you are

You have a strong background in security engineering, with experience in designing and implementing complex security systems. You are comfortable working with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, and have a solid understanding of Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration. Your expertise in Python and Linux allows you to develop robust security solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing systems.

You have a proven track record of identifying systematic risks through threat modeling and risk assessment. You are skilled at building controls and infrastructure that address these risks, ensuring the security of sensitive data and systems. Your ability to mentor engineers and contribute to a security-focused culture is a key asset that you bring to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will scope, design, and build security systems end-to-end, maintaining them through production. You will tackle ambiguous technical challenges with minimal oversight, driving the security initiatives that protect Anthropic's AI systems. Your responsibilities will include mentoring engineers across the security team and the broader engineering organization, contributing to hiring efforts, and fostering a culture of security awareness.

You will collaborate closely with other teams to define the authentication architecture for training infrastructure and design cryptographic foundations that protect model weights and training data. Your work will be largely greenfield, allowing you to help define the architecture and security practices that will shape the future of AI at Anthropic.
