What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Databases team, you will lead the technical direction for database solutions that power both product offerings and research initiatives — your role will involve designing and implementing scalable database systems that can support millions of users interacting with Claude's products. You will be responsible for architecting data storage solutions that work seamlessly across various cloud platforms and deployment models.

You will drive the growth of database infrastructure through significant scaling efforts — your work will ensure that the systems you build can handle 100x+ growth while maintaining high reliability and performance. You will collaborate closely with product and research teams to understand their needs and translate them into effective database solutions.

Your responsibilities will also include monitoring and optimizing database performance — you will implement best practices for database management and ensure that the systems are robust and efficient. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
