You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on database systems — you've architected and operated database solutions that scale to support millions of users and understand the complexities involved in managing large-scale data infrastructures. Your expertise in cloud platforms like GCP and AWS allows you to design seamless storage solutions across diverse deployment models, ensuring reliability and performance even under heavy loads.
You are a problem solver at heart, capable of driving the technical direction for database solutions that are critical to both product and research initiatives. Your experience includes developing strategies that handle billions of API requests, and you thrive on the challenge of scaling systems through significant growth while maintaining high standards of reliability.
What you'll do
As a Staff+ Software Engineer on the Databases team, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing database solutions that support Anthropic's product offerings and research initiatives. You will drive the technical direction for database solutions used across the organization, ensuring they are robust and scalable. Your role will involve designing systems that can handle massive growth, including the ability to support millions of users interacting with Claude's product ecosystem.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build and scale database systems, ensuring they are optimized for performance and reliability. This includes developing infrastructure that serves both product and research needs, and creating data storage solutions that work seamlessly across various environments, including first-party and third-party deployments.
