Apple is hiring a Senior Analog Layout Automation Engineer to shape the next generation of systems-on-chip (SOCs). You'll collaborate with circuit designers and leverage AI/ML techniques for layout automation and optimization. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant industry experience, particularly in designing analog and mixed-signal layouts in deep-submicron CMOS and FinFET technologies. Your strong programming and scripting skills in languages such as SKILL, Perl, TCL, Shell, and Python emphasize layout automation and productivity tooling. You possess a solid understanding of supervised and self-supervised learning, convolutional neural networks, and their applications in design automation.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to convert design concepts into silicon. Your ability to analyze circuits, run verification suites, and resolve LVS/DRC/ERC issues is complemented by your passion for driving automation through innovative solutions. You are committed to improving workflows and applying AI/ML techniques to enhance design efficiency and quality metrics.
Desirable
Experience with advanced CAD tools and a background in automation within the semiconductor industry would be a plus. Familiarity with AI-powered design methodologies and a keen interest in the latest technologies in analog and mixed-signal circuit design will set you apart.
What you'll do
As an Analog Layout Automation Engineer at Apple, you will play a crucial role in the evolution of SOCs that power iconic devices. You will collaborate with circuit designers to create high-performance analog and mixed-signal layouts, ensuring that design concepts are effectively translated into silicon. Your responsibilities will include reviewing floor plans, analyzing circuits, and running verification suites to ensure the integrity of designs.
You will also be tasked with driving automation initiatives by developing scripts that improve workflows and applying AI/ML for layout optimization. This includes verification acceleration, advanced modeling, and the creation of intelligent quality metrics that reduce manual effort and provide data-driven design insights. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and performance of next-generation SOCs, making you an integral part of Apple's Silicon Engineering Group.
What we offer
At Apple, you will be part of a dynamic team that is at the forefront of technology innovation. We offer a collaborative work environment where your ideas and contributions are valued. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that shape the future of technology, alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe in fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Join us in our mission to create the next generation of systems-on-chip that power the devices you love. With competitive compensation and benefits, Apple is committed to supporting your professional growth and development.
