Computational Designer

Who you are

You have a demonstrated understanding of computational and parametric design principles, which allows you to bridge aesthetics, engineering, and human-centered insights through algorithmic modeling. Your proficiency in Grasshopper and Rhino enables you to create sophisticated frameworks that inform data-driven design solutions. You possess excellent problem-solving skills and the perseverance to tackle open-ended, ambiguous challenges, making you a valuable asset in a collaborative environment.

Your exceptional communication skills in English allow you to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. You thrive in environments that encourage exploration and iteration, and you are eager to work closely with Industrial Designers, Human Factors researchers, and Digital Sculptors.

Desirable

You have a proven ability to incorporate diverse data sets, such as human factors research and engineering constraints, into computational models. Your experience in creating adaptable design systems and flexible frameworks is highly preferred, as it aligns with the innovative spirit of Apple's Industrial Design Group.

What you'll do

In this role, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to translate complex, multidimensional data into elegant design solutions. Your work will inform how Apple’s products look and function, integrating large datasets into functional designs. You will be involved in the entire design process, from initial exploration to final execution, ensuring that your designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also grounded in data-driven insights.

You will engage in iterative design processes, exploring various design possibilities and refining your concepts based on feedback and research. Your ability to communicate effectively with team members will be crucial as you navigate the complexities of design and engineering constraints.
