Who you are
You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience, with a strong background in CPU performance architecture and micro-architecture design. Your expertise in performance analysis allows you to identify and devise solutions for hardware and software performance bottlenecks effectively. You are skilled in collaborating with RTL and implementation teams to ensure optimal CPU performance. Your experience in developing performance exploration and correlation tools is a significant asset, as is your ability to work closely with software and system teams to profile and optimize critical workloads for CPU performance and power.
Desirable
Experience in performance modeling is a plus, as it complements your existing skills in CPU performance architecture. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that have a substantial impact on product development.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be at the center of a chip design effort, working with various disciplines to ensure the successful delivery of functional products to millions of customers. You will architect cutting-edge CPU performance features, collaborating closely with RTL and implementation teams to drive performance improvements. Your responsibilities will include developing advanced CPU performance simulators and associated infrastructure, which are critical for evaluating and enhancing CPU performance.
You will also be tasked with identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in both hardware and software, ensuring that the CPU meets the high standards expected of Apple products. Collaborating with software and system teams, you will profile and optimize critical workloads, focusing on both performance and power efficiency. Your role will require you to correlate the performance of RTL with the CPU performance simulator, providing insights that will guide future design decisions.
