Apple is hiring a SoC Firmware Engineer to develop embedded software solutions for their premier SoCs. You'll work closely with multi-functional teams on firmware development and system-level API functionality. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience in firmware or device driver development. Your background includes working with embedded systems, and you are familiar with the intricacies of firmware development and system debugging. You possess strong problem-solving skills and can effectively communicate technical concepts to various stakeholders.
Your software development experience includes proficiency in C and assembly language, particularly with ARM CPUs. You have a solid understanding of hardware/software integration and are comfortable working in embedded environments. Experience with FPGA development is a plus, showcasing your versatility in handling different hardware platforms.
What you'll do
As a SoC Firmware Engineer at Apple, you will implement new features and functionalities for Appleβs premier SoCs. You will collaborate closely with various team members on processor sub-system design, algorithm development, and firmware development. Your role will involve developing drivers for various IP blocks and ensuring that the firmware meets product requirements through rigorous testing and debugging.
You will partner with the silicon team to craft specifications for future chips, building software to run on these new chips and boards. Your responsibilities will include coding, debugging, and conducting hardware/software integration testing, as well as communicating results and recommendations to your team. You will play a critical role in the Hardware Technology organization, contributing to the development of innovative technology products.
