Who you are

You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience, particularly in developing intelligent solutions that enhance chip design processes. Your expertise in GenAI frameworks and large language models positions you as a pioneer in the field, ready to tackle complex physical synthesis challenges. You are skilled in scripting languages such as Python, TCL, or Perl, which you use for EDA tool automation, and you have hands-on experience with industry-standard synthesis tools like Fusion Compiler and Genus.

Your understanding of physical synthesis concepts and CAD flows is deep, allowing you to create AI-powered agents that autonomously optimize processes and predict design challenges. You are familiar with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and have experience in Python AI/ML libraries, which you leverage to develop innovative solutions that transform RTL-to-GDS implementation flows. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to merge artificial intelligence with chip design, contributing to the development of powerful and efficient silicon for Apple's devices.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the development of AI-powered design automation tools that revolutionize chip design workflows. You will apply your expertise in GenAI and agentic frameworks to create intelligent automation solutions that enhance physical synthesis processes. Your responsibilities will include developing AI agents that can autonomously optimize workflows, predict design challenges, and recommend effective solutions.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the automation tools you develop meet the needs of the processor and SoC development teams. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of Apple's silicon technologies, enabling the company to deliver cutting-edge products. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and sharing your knowledge of GenAI and physical synthesis with the team.
