Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and possess hands-on experience with physical synthesis challenges in semiconductor design. Your expertise in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL allows you to develop innovative solutions that push the boundaries of performance and efficiency in Apple Silicon projects. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys collaborating with design teams to address their specific challenges and improve methodologies.
You have a strong understanding of the implementation flow from RTL through GDS signoff, and you are familiar with the tools and techniques that enable design teams to achieve optimal performance, power, and area (PPA) results. Your experience working with EDA vendors equips you to shape tool roadmaps and build custom solutions that meet industry standards.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the synthesis challenges that are critical to Apple Silicon. You will apply your skills to develop and improve physical synthesis techniques through innovative scripts, flows, and automation. You will partner closely with design teams to define the best methodologies and tools for their specific needs, ensuring that your optimizations translate into faster and more efficient Apple devices.
You will be responsible for running full validation flows from RTL through place-and-route and timing signoff, demonstrating actual PPA improvements. Your work will have a direct impact on the performance of every iPhone, iPad, and Mac, as you push beyond conventional synthesis limits to deliver breakthrough performance while maintaining industry-leading power efficiency.
