Who you are
You have a strong background in physical synthesis and a passion for pushing the boundaries of processor performance. With experience in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and TCL, you are well-equipped to tackle complex synthesis challenges. You understand the intricacies of the implementation flow from RTL through GDS signoff and are eager to innovate in this space. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work closely with design teams, ensuring that the methodologies and tools you develop meet their specific needs. You are committed to achieving breakthrough results in power, performance, and area (PPA) for Apple Silicon projects.
Desirable
Experience with industry-standard tools and methodologies in physical synthesis is a plus. Familiarity with EDA vendor tools and the ability to shape tool roadmaps will set you apart. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen interest in automation will enhance your contributions to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the synthesis challenges that are critical to Apple Silicon. You will develop and improve physical synthesis techniques through innovative scripts and automation, directly impacting the performance of iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Your responsibilities will include defining methodologies and optimized flows that enable design teams to achieve exceptional PPA results. You will validate your optimizations by running full validation flows from RTL through place-and-route and timing signoff, demonstrating actual improvements in performance and efficiency. Collaborating with EDA vendors, you will build custom solutions that push beyond industry standards, ensuring that your work ships in millions of devices.
