Job Description

Who you are

You have over 10 years of experience in the relevant industry, particularly in silicon photonics and optical packaging. Your background includes a strong understanding of optical interconnect technologies and their applications in data center connectivity. You possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and a Master's or Ph.D. in Physics with a focus on optics is preferred. You are skilled in leading technology development projects and have experience working with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in optical engine module design.

Your expertise in optical coupling design and process optimization for single-mode fiber packaging sets you apart. You are adept at defining assembly baseline processes and making critical decisions regarding package BOM. You have a proven track record of collaborating with optical component vendors and foundries to bring packaging solutions from concept to high-volume manufacturing.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the development of silicon photonics packaging technology, focusing on high-efficiency optical I/O module architecture. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive the design and integration of optical engine modules and co-packaging optics. Your responsibilities will include establishing optical coupling designs that optimize performance, reliability, yield, and cost.

You will be responsible for characterizing micro-optical component assembly and interfaces, ensuring that all designs meet stringent performance criteria. Your role will also involve collaborating with external vendors and foundries to ensure successful implementation of packaging solutions. You will be expected to travel internationally for a minimum of 5% of your time to engage with partners and stakeholders.
