Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mathematics, or Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. Your background includes a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles and transducer physics, which allows you to design complex sensing systems effectively. You are resourceful and capable of modeling complex multi-physics and electrical systems, ensuring that your designs are robust and optimized for performance.
Your experience includes block-level circuit simulation and familiarity with both analog and digital signal processing techniques. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with hardware teams to clarify ambiguous design spaces and converge on technical issues. You are passionate about developing innovative solutions that enhance user interactions with technology.
Desirable
A Master's or Ph.D. in a related field is preferred, along with project or coursework experience specifically in designing sensing systems. Familiarity with calibration needs and back-end algorithms will set you apart as a candidate. You are eager to contribute to a multi-disciplinary team and help accelerate progress in sensing architecture.
What you'll do
As a Sensing System Architect, you will be responsible for architecting the end-to-end sensing system for Apple's innovative devices, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and AirPods. You will develop architecture packages backed by extensive modeling and simulations, enabling hardware teams to execute and build robust sensing systems at scale. Your role will involve defining sensor and ASIC requirements, as well as ensuring that the systems are power- and area-optimized.
You will collaborate with various engineering partners to align efforts across teams, helping to clarify design challenges and drive technical solutions. Your work will directly impact the user experience by enabling valuable interactions with Apple products. You will also be involved in the continuous improvement of sensing technologies, contributing to the overall roadmap for system and display advancements.
