Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mathematics, or Mechanical Engineering, along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience. Your deep understanding of electrical engineering and transducer physics allows you to navigate complex design challenges effectively. You possess experience in modeling complex multi-physics and electrical systems, which is crucial for developing state-of-the-art sensing technologies. Your block-level circuit simulation experience enables you to create efficient designs that meet performance requirements. You are familiar with both analog and digital signal processing techniques, which are essential for architecting sensing systems that enhance user interactions with Apple products.

Desirable

A Master's or Ph.D. in a related field is preferred, along with relevant project or coursework experience in designing sensing systems. You have a strong ability to work collaboratively with engineering partners and can independently converge technical issues while aligning efforts across teams. Your resourcefulness and problem-solving skills make you an asset in ambiguous design spaces, allowing you to drive clarity and progress in hardware development.

What you'll do

As a Senior Hardware Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for architecting end-to-end sensing systems that include sensor and ASIC requirements, back-end algorithms, and calibration needs. You will deliver an architecture package backed by extensive modeling and simulations, enabling hardware teams to execute and build robust, power- and area-optimized sensing systems at scale. Your role will involve collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop technologies and sensor modules across Apple's product portfolio, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and AirPods. You will help accelerate progress by providing clarity in design spaces and addressing technical challenges independently. Your contributions will play a critical role in shaping the future of user interactions with Apple devices.
