Overview

Apple is hiring a GPU Physical Design Engineer to design and manufacture high-performance, power-efficient Graphics processors (GPUs). You'll work on ASIC implementation and collaborate with Front-End teams to optimize designs. This role requires a strong background in physical design and ASIC methodologies.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, and you possess proven ability in all aspects of ASIC implementation including Synthesis, DFT insertion, Floorplanning, Clock and Power distribution, Place & Route, and timing signoff. You are a confident problem solver who thrives under pressure and enjoys creating elegant solutions to complex challenges. Your attention to detail is intrinsic, and you understand the importance of every aspect of the design process.

You have experience working with Front-End teams to understand design architecture, which allows you to drive optimal floorplanning and physical implementation through early RTL feedback. Your knowledge of state-of-the-art physical construction and optimization flows enables you to push performance, power, and area (PPA) of GPU designs effectively. You are ready to help chart the future of Apple’s ecosystem and contribute to the technology that fuels Apple’s devices.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing complete chip designs from RTL to tape-out, ensuring that Apple products and services can seamlessly handle the tasks that make them beloved by millions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to craft and build technology that meets high-performance standards while maintaining power efficiency. Your strategic engineering skills will be essential as you navigate complex design challenges and contribute to the overall success of the Silicon Technologies group.

You will also engage in hands-on technical work, applying your expertise in ASIC methodologies to ensure that designs meet stringent performance and power requirements. Your role will involve detailed analysis and optimization of GPU designs, where you will leverage your skills to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of the products.

What we offer

At Apple, you will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and creativity. We offer a collaborative work environment where your contributions will directly impact the future of technology. You will have access to state-of-the-art tools and resources to support your work, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development within the company. We believe in fostering a culture of inclusion and diversity, and we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement.
