Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and some relevant experience in physical design and large chip integration — your attention to detail allows you to create elegant solutions to complex challenges. You understand the importance of collaboration, as you will work closely with the front-end team to drive physical aspects early in the design cycle. Your experience with ASIC integration, including floorplanning and clock design, equips you to handle the intricacies of chip design from netlist to tapeout.
You thrive in environments that require both strategic engineering and hands-on technical work — your ability to develop methodologies and best practices will enable best-in-class GPU design. You are a proactive communicator, capable of driving the needs of physical design with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Your passion for innovation and excellence in GPU design will contribute to the success of Apple's next-generation products.
What you'll do
As a GPU Top Level Physical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing complete chip design from netlist to tapeout. You will collaborate with the front-end team to understand RTL and drive physical aspects early in the design cycle. Your role will involve developing physical design guidelines and checklists, driving execution, and supervising progress to ensure the highest quality in GPU design. You will be the focal point for place and route integration at the top level, ensuring that all aspects of the design meet Apple's high standards.
You will drive innovation within the physical design team, developing methodologies that enhance the design process and improve efficiency. Your responsibilities will include communicating with cross-functional teams to align on project goals and ensuring that the physical design meets the requirements set forth by the project. You will also be involved in mentoring junior engineers, sharing your expertise, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
What we offer
At Apple, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to crafting technology that fuels the devices loved by millions. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge GPU designs that push the boundaries of performance and efficiency. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Join us in shaping the future of technology and making a meaningful impact on the world.
