Who you are
You have 3+ years of experience in precision assembly, inspection, and automation equipment design and qualification — you understand the intricacies of manufacturing processes and are passionate about driving continuous improvement in equipment yield and efficiency. Your background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, and you are comfortable with travel, approximately 30-35% of the time.
You possess a strong understanding of tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies — this knowledge allows you to craft machine qualification requirements effectively. Your experience includes working with design of experiments and failure analysis, ensuring that you can contribute to the development of technically complex opto-electronics modules.
You are knowledgeable in Six Sigma principles, which you apply to enhance manufacturing processes and improve product quality. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams makes you a key stakeholder in design-for-manufacturing initiatives, where your insights directly impact the design, cost, and quality of new products.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for innovating precision assembly and measurement processes — your work will drive continuous improvement in equipment yield, efficiency, and speed. You will engage in design-for-manufacturing and process development, ensuring that all aspects of assembly tolerance analysis are meticulously addressed.
