Who you are
You have a solid understanding of computer architecture and VLSI fundamentals, which allows you to tackle complex challenges in GPU energy modeling. As a proficient Python programmer, you are capable of developing tools for measurement and analysis of GPU energy consumption. You are well-organized and detail-oriented, ensuring that your analyses lead to actionable insights for power reduction.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers across various disciplines including driver, compiler, and application engineers. Your ability to communicate effectively enables you to drive power reduction techniques across the entire stack, making you a valuable asset to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will develop micro-architectural level energy models for early power estimation and conduct what-if analyses to explore performance per watt trade-offs. You will analyze power consumption throughout the GPU, identifying opportunities for energy reduction and implementing techniques to enhance efficiency. Your work will involve prototyping solutions to improve the architecture and micro-architecture of next-generation GPUs, ensuring they meet power targets while delivering high performance.
You will also be responsible for conducting directed studies that prototype solutions aimed at reducing power consumption. By collaborating with architects, micro-architects, and designers, you will help shape the future of Apple's GPU technology. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and efficiency of Appleβs devices, enabling millions of users to enjoy seamless experiences.
