Who you are

You have 2+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, bringing a strong understanding of product development processes and a passion for creating user-friendly devices. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with industrial designers and technology teams to define product visions that resonate with diverse customer needs. Your problem-solving skills are complemented by a creative mindset, allowing you to explore multiple product form factors and develop innovative architectures that enhance user interaction.

Your expertise includes defining kinematic behaviors for ergonomic optimization, ensuring that products not only meet aesthetic standards but also provide exceptional functionality. You are familiar with integrating mechanisms, sensors, and electromechanical components, and you understand the importance of optimizing designs for manufacturability and performance. Your analytical skills enable you to conduct stress and tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and prototyping, ensuring that every design meets rigorous quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.

Desirable

Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a plus, as is familiarity with prototyping and testing methodologies. You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products that enhance the user experience. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams ensures that you can advocate for design choices while considering technical constraints and manufacturing capabilities.

What you'll do

In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and designers to bring innovative input devices to life. You will explore various product form factors and develop new product architectures that enhance user interaction with Apple’s iPad and Mac ecosystems. Your responsibilities will include defining ergonomic features and kinematic behaviors, integrating electromechanical components, and ensuring that designs meet both functional and aesthetic requirements.

You will partner with internal manufacturing teams and external vendors to optimize designs for function, cosmetics, and manufacturability. Throughout the product lifecycle, you will conduct stress and tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and prototyping to ensure that designs meet all requirements. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience, as you focus on creating products that cater to a wide range of customer needs and preferences.
