Job Description
Who you are
You have 2+ years of experience in product design or a related field, ideally with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Your expertise includes designing plastic and metal parts, and you possess strong 3-D CAD skills that allow you to visualize and create intricate designs. You are familiar with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles, and you have experience with statistical tolerance analysis techniques and geometric tolerancing. Your analytical and problem-solving skills enable you to tackle complex design challenges effectively. Additionally, you have some experience with basic finite element analysis and general mechanical engineering analysis, which enhances your ability to create robust designs. You are flexible and adaptable, thriving in a dynamic environment where every day presents new challenges.
What you'll do
As a Product Design Engineer at Apple, you will be a key member of the Audio Product Design team, responsible for conceiving, designing, testing, and bringing to production innovative products that redefine the music experience. You will collaborate closely with various multi-functional teams, including Industrial Design, Audio Engineering, Packaging, Safety, Hardware Engineering, EMC, Operations, and Marketing, ensuring that every aspect of the product meets Apple's high standards. Your role will involve integrating advanced components into new products, requiring you to stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in audio design. You will be expected to solve problems creatively and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the AirPods product line. This position may require some international travel, approximately 10% of the time, to collaborate with global teams and partners.
