You hold an M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Material Science, or a similar discipline — your academic background has equipped you with a deep understanding of structural design and solid mechanics. You have significant experience developing and leading teams that perform analysis or product development, demonstrating your ability to guide engineers in their professional growth.
You possess a strong grasp of mechanics, materials, and numerical methods — your expertise directly impacts the success of high-performance consumer products. You are passionate about pushing the boundaries of design through simulation and modeling, believing in the power of predictive simulation to transform industries and improve lives.
As a leader, you excel at building and maintaining relationships with design and reliability leaders — your collaborative approach ensures that your team's capabilities are applied in the most impactful way. You are committed to overseeing a roadmap for process improvements and ensuring appropriate resource allocation across various product lines.
What you'll do
In this role, you will oversee a world-class team of Finite Element Analysis experts who engage deeply with design engineers on every product at Apple — your leadership will maximize their impact as analysts, teammates, and future leaders. You will be responsible for developing your team, guiding them in their analysis work, and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
You will collaborate closely with the Hardware Engineering organization, ensuring that your team's insights and analyses are integrated into the product development process — your ability to communicate complex technical concepts will be crucial in these interactions. You will also be tasked with identifying opportunities for process improvements, helping to streamline workflows and enhance the efficiency of your team.
