Overview
Apple is hiring a Product Design FEA Engineer to drive the design of groundbreaking products using predictive finite element simulation. You'll work closely with the product design team to define mechanical requirements and validate designs. This role requires strong knowledge of solid mechanics and experience in FEA.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong knowledge of solid mechanics and a solid foundation in finite element analysis (FEA) — your expertise allows you to tackle complex engineering challenges and contribute to innovative product designs. You pay meticulous attention to detail and are committed to verification and validation processes, ensuring that every design meets the highest standards of quality. With a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Structural Engineering, or a similar discipline, you are well-equipped to excel in this role. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to create cutting-edge products that push the boundaries of technology.
What you'll do
As a core member of the Product Design FEA team, you will drive the design of groundbreaking products through predictive finite element simulation. You will build and run product models for important design load cases, collaborating closely with the cross-functional design team to define new load cases and product-level mechanical requirements. Your role will involve testing, characterizing, and developing new material models, as well as closing the gaps between simulation and test with highly instrumented tests and rigorous validation. You will be fully integrated with the product design team from the earliest stages, playing a pivotal role in the success of new iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Vision Pro, and many more future products.
What we offer
At Apple, you will be part of a team that is committed to innovation and engineering excellence. We offer a collaborative work environment where your contributions will directly impact the success of our products. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and be part of a company that values diversity and inclusion. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe in the potential of every individual to contribute to our mission.
