Who you are

You have experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, adept at developing processes, tools, and automation for managing distributed systems in production environments. You understand the importance of combining software and systems engineering with system administration practices to build and run large-scale, fault-tolerant systems. You are proficient in one or more programming languages, including Java, Go, and Python, and have optional experience managing services on Kubernetes. Your background includes working with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services like EC2 and EBS, and you are familiar with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform. You thrive in collaborative environments and are not afraid to question assumptions to find elegant technical solutions.

What you'll do

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Apple, you will be part of the Service Engineering - SRE team, focusing on building next-generation search infrastructure and platform services. You will collaborate cross-functionally with various teams, ensuring that Apple’s services are reliable, scalable, and secure. Your responsibilities will include developing applications and tooling that are safe, reliable, scalable, and fast. You will manage the deployment of Voldemort key-value distributed database infrastructure on both on-premise bare metal and public cloud platforms, focusing on reliability, performance, and scaling to deliver continuous data store availability. You will also be involved in maintenance, deployment automation, backup, observability, and telemetry, ensuring that the systems you manage meet high standards of availability and performance. You will work under tight deadlines, taking on complex problems and providing elegant solutions that enhance the overall reliability of Apple’s services.
