Overview
Apple is hiring a SoC Validation Engineer to validate silicon components and debug issues related to anomalous behaviors. You'll work with Python, Perl, and Tcl to execute system tests on prototype SoCs in Austin.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in silicon validation and debugging, with experience in executing system tests on prototype SoCs. Your expertise includes understanding high-level architectures of IP blocks and defining validation plans that ensure the reliability of Appleβs innovative products. You are proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Tcl, which you use to automate testing processes and analyze results effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with functional test writers and domain experts to identify and resolve issues. Your analytical skills enable you to triage problems and isolate failures efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the validation team.
Desirable
Experience with circuit marginalities, process-design interactions, and logic bugs is a plus. Familiarity with system workloads and the ability to characterize functional voltage under various conditions will enhance your contributions to the team. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, ensuring that you stay at the forefront of silicon validation practices.
What you'll do
As a SoC Validation Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for validating Appleβs System on Chips (SoCs) through rigorous testing and debugging processes. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to execute system tests across various Process, Voltage, and Temperature (PVT) corners, ensuring that the SoCs meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. Your role will involve defining and implementing validation plans that address potential issues and characterizing the functional voltage of SoCs under different workloads. When anomalies occur, you will be the first line of defense, utilizing your debugging skills to triage issues and work with domain experts to isolate and resolve failures.
You will also contribute to the development of automation frameworks that streamline the testing process, allowing for efficient execution of tests on large volumes of prototype SoCs. Your insights and findings will play a crucial role in the iterative design process, helping to refine and enhance Appleβs cutting-edge hardware products. You will be part of a culture that values innovation and collaboration, where your contributions will directly impact the future of technology.
What we offer
