Who you are

You have a solid background in silicon validation and debugging, with experience in working closely with functional test writers to understand high-level architectures of IP blocks within SoCs. You are skilled in executing system tests through scripts and automation frameworks, and you have a keen eye for identifying potential issues under various workloads. Your experience includes characterizing functional voltage of SoCs and triaging issues effectively when they arise. You are familiar with process-design interactions and logic bugs, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can work with domain experts to define validation plans.

You possess strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Perl, and Tcl, which you utilize to automate testing processes and enhance validation efficiency. Your analytical mindset allows you to isolate and bucketize failures, ensuring that issues are addressed promptly and effectively. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for technology, always eager to learn and adapt to new challenges in the field of silicon validation.

Desirable

Experience with large-scale prototype SoCs and knowledge of Process, Voltage, and Temperature (PVT) corners would be advantageous. Familiarity with debugging tools and methodologies is a plus, as is a background in hardware engineering or related fields.

What you'll do

In this role, you will join Apple's Silicon Validation Team, focusing on validating Apple SoCs with system workloads. You will collaborate with functional test writers to define and execute validation plans, ensuring that each prototype SoC meets the required specifications. Your responsibilities will include running tests through automation frameworks and analyzing results to identify any potential issues. You will be the first line of defense when issues occur, utilizing your debugging skills to triage and isolate failures effectively.

You will work closely with domain experts to refine validation processes and contribute to the overall improvement of silicon validation practices at Apple. Your role will involve characterizing the functional voltage of SoCs under various workloads, providing critical insights that will inform future designs and enhancements.
