Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience, particularly in wireless communication systems. Your strong knowledge of IEEE 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) sets you apart, and you possess programming skills in Python, Perl, or Shell scripting. Proven experience as a Silicon firmware test engineer is a plus, along with a solid understanding of wireless/PHY/radio fundamentals.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with firmware, radio, MAC, and systems engineering teams to develop comprehensive firmware test plans. Your analytical mindset allows you to craft effective test methodologies and functions that support rigorous testing processes. You are adept at debugging and reproducing issues, ensuring that products meet Apple's high standards for stability and performance.
What you'll do
In this role, you will develop white box firmware test cases by understanding firmware code structure, which will involve crafting test methodologies and functions to support testing. You will be responsible for test plan development, setting up manual and automated tests, and publishing test reports. Collecting test logs and performing the first screening of test failures will be key parts of your responsibilities.
You will also help build pre-silicon and post-silicon reference board test setups, as well as production-specific test setups. Your innovative ideas will contribute to addressing automation and execution problems, enhancing the overall testing process. You will support development teams in debugging and reproducing issues, collaborating with system QA on bug reproduction, and running debug tests with debug firmware builds.
What we offer
At Apple, you will be part of a team that values innovation and quality. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge wireless silicon technology that powers Apple products, contributing to the future of connectivity.
