Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in high voltage power electronics. Your background includes conceptualizing, designing, and testing power converters and systems for demanding applications, particularly in aerospace or similar fields. You are familiar with electric field analysis and have a strong understanding of insulation systems, including solid, gas, and vacuum types. Your experience includes conducting partial discharge testing and implementing strategies to prevent breakdown mechanisms. You thrive in multidisciplinary environments, collaborating effectively with engineers from various specialties to achieve optimal design solutions. You are detail-oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills, allowing you to navigate complex engineering challenges with ease. You are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and value diverse perspectives in your team.
Desirable
Experience with satellite systems or aerospace applications is a plus. Familiarity with thermal management and power efficiency optimization will enhance your contributions to the team. A background in project management or leading engineering initiatives would be beneficial as you take ownership of critical components in high-stakes projects.
What you'll do
As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Astranis, you will lead the design and validation of high voltage power electronics systems for our advanced satellite projects.
