You have a strong background in embedded software development, particularly in C and C++. Your experience includes working with embedded Linux systems, and you understand the intricacies of developing software for hardware integration. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a collaborative environment.
You have a passion for aerospace technology and are excited about the opportunity to contribute to projects that expand humanity's reach into the solar system. Desirable
Experience with flight software development or similar aerospace applications would be a plus. Familiarity with network protocols and communication systems is also beneficial, as you will be working on software that commands and monitors spacecraft operations.
What you'll do
As an Embedded Software Engineer on the Network Software team, you will be responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of flight software for Astranis satellites. You will develop software for the flight computer and Earth Stations Hub, ensuring that the systems operate reliably and meet stringent performance requirements. Your role will involve writing and testing firmware for control boards, collaborating closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration.
You will also mentor junior team members, guiding them through best practices in embedded software development and helping them grow their skills. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work with various teams to ensure that the software you develop meets the needs of both commercial and US Government programs.
Your contributions will directly impact the functionality and reliability of satellite operations, making your work crucial to the success of Astranis's mission to provide secure networks to sophisticated customers worldwide. You will engage in code reviews, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the overall improvement of the software development process.
