Who you are
You have a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in reliability engineering or a related field. Your expertise includes designing and testing electronic systems for aerospace applications, ensuring they meet stringent reliability and performance standards. You are skilled in leading teams, mentoring engineers, and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence. You understand the complexities of spacecraft design and are passionate about pushing the boundaries of what is possible in this field. You are a strong communicator, able to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to delivering high-quality results.
Desirable
Experience with satellite systems or aerospace engineering is a plus. Familiarity with design for reliability principles and methodologies will help you excel in this role. You may also have experience with project management tools and techniques, enabling you to effectively lead your team and manage project timelines.
What you'll do
As the Reliability Design Team Lead, you will directly manage and mentor a team of reliability and component engineers. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our spacecraft electronics and systems meet our quality, reliability, and availability needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to push the boundaries of geo-synchronous spacecraft design, enabling performance in space that has not been realized to date. You will implement design for reliability practices throughout the engineering processes, ensuring that reliability is at the forefront of our designs. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining reliability test plans, analyzing test data, and providing recommendations for design improvements based on your findings. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding your team to achieve their goals and contribute to the overall success of Astranis.
