Astranis is hiring a Senior RF/Communication Systems Engineer to design and model satellite communication payloads. You'll collaborate with various engineering teams and work on advanced radio systems. This role requires expertise in RF and DSP technologies.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in RF and communication systems engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in designing and modeling communication payloads for satellites. Your expertise includes working with RF components, digital signal processing (DSP), and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA). You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve optimal design outcomes. You are analytical and detail-oriented, capable of conducting architectural trade studies and establishing system requirements through simulation. Your experience includes leading research and development efforts for new radio features and technologies, demonstrating your ability to innovate in the field.
Desirable
Experience with satellite communication systems and a deep understanding of antenna design principles would be a plus. Familiarity with advanced simulation tools and methodologies for RF system design is also desirable. You are passionate about space technology and eager to contribute to projects that expand humanity's reach into the solar system.
What you'll do
As a Senior RF/Communication Systems Engineer at Astranis, you will take ownership of the architecture and design of satellite communication payloads. You will lead R&D efforts to develop new radio features and technologies, ensuring that our systems meet the stringent requirements of our sophisticated customers. You will collaborate with antenna, SDR, RF, DSP, and mechanical teams to create the best possible radio systems. Your role will involve conducting architectural trade studies and establishing both system and unit-level requirements analytically or via simulation. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the overall growth of the engineering team.
