Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering, particularly in electronics, and you understand the complexities of working with advanced technologies in the aerospace sector. Your background includes developing and implementing quality standards that meet or exceed industry requirements, particularly in high-stakes environments. You are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, to ensure that supplier qualifications align with project goals. Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively manage supplier relationships and resolve escalations efficiently.

You possess a deep understanding of inspection standards and workmanship requirements, and you have experience authoring documentation that guides suppliers in meeting these standards. Your analytical mindset allows you to assess supplier performance critically and implement improvements where necessary. You are comfortable traveling to supplier sites to conduct audits and assessments, ensuring that quality is maintained throughout the supply chain.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus, as is familiarity with electronic components and systems. You may also have knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality management systems that govern aerospace manufacturing. A background in project management or process improvement methodologies would further enhance your candidacy.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for supply chain escalations, working closely with suppliers to address any quality issues that arise. You will lead the onboarding and qualification of new suppliers, ensuring they meet Astranis' stringent requirements. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining supplier qualification standards, as well as conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with these standards. You will collaborate with the electrical engineering team during the development phases of new technologies, providing insights that help shape product qualifications.

You will also be responsible for authoring inspection standards that are tailored to the specific needs of the aerospace industry, ensuring that all products meet the highest quality benchmarks. Your role will involve analyzing supplier performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and you will work with suppliers to implement corrective actions as needed. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of quality within the supply chain, promoting best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
