You'll lead threat modeling, security architecture, and design reviews while collaborating with product and engineering teams. This role requires expertise in security assessments and a strong understanding of secure design principles.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in product security, with a strong background in threat modeling and security architecture — you've successfully led security assessments and have a deep understanding of secure design principles. Your expertise in penetration testing and red/blue team engagements allows you to identify and mitigate security risks effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, acting as a trusted liaison between product, engineering, and security teams to ensure security is integrated throughout the product development lifecycle.

You possess a solid understanding of security frameworks and best practices, particularly those outlined by OWASP — you are adept at defining and operationalizing security assessment strategies that align with industry standards. Your ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders makes you an invaluable asset to cross-functional teams. You are proactive in identifying potential security vulnerabilities and are committed to continuous improvement in security practices.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead product security initiatives across Axon's hardware portfolio, ensuring that security is a fundamental aspect of product design and development. You will conduct threat modeling sessions and security architecture reviews for new and existing products, providing actionable insights to engineering teams. Your responsibilities will include defining security assessment strategies, such as architecture reviews and penetration testing, to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.

You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to enable secure design choices early in the development process — your expertise will help ensure that security risks are understood and mitigated throughout the product lifecycle. You will also develop repeatable patterns and guidance for product and engineering teams, fostering a culture of security awareness and best practices across the organization.

Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest security trends and threats, continuously adapting Axon's security strategies to address emerging challenges. You will participate in red/blue team engagements to test and improve the security posture of Axon's products, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of security and compliance.

What we offer

Axon provides a dynamic work environment where you can make a meaningful impact on public safety and justice. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals who are passionate about their mission. The company offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing you to collaborate in person while also providing flexibility for remote work. Axon is committed to fostering an inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives and encourages professional growth.
