You have a strong background in banking regulations and legal counsel, ideally with 5+ years of experience in a similar role. Your expertise includes knowledge of laws relevant to banking entities and financial services, such as Regulation W, Regulation D, and the Bank Secrecy Act. You are a creative legal thinker who is solution-oriented and passionate about expanding access to the financial system through innovative banking products.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to provide legal guidance that supports business objectives. Your communication skills are excellent, allowing you to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders effectively. You are proactive in identifying potential legal issues and providing strategic advice to mitigate risks.

Desirable

Experience in the digital asset space or familiarity with evolving regulations in this area would be a plus. You are comfortable navigating the intersection of technology and finance, and you have a keen interest in how digital innovations can enhance banking services.

What you'll do

In this role, you will provide legal and regulatory advice to various teams within Block, including the Counsel team and business partners. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with banking laws and regulations as Block expands its product offerings in commercial and consumer banking. Your contributions will directly impact the development of banking and digital asset initiatives across the company.

You will analyze and interpret laws and regulations relevant to banking entities, advising on compliance with the Truth In Savings Act, Electronic Fund Transfer Act, and other applicable regulations. You will collaborate with product teams to ensure that new banking products meet legal requirements and align with the company's mission of economic empowerment.

Your role will involve drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and policies related to banking operations. You will also stay updated on regulatory changes and industry trends, providing insights to help shape the company's strategy in the financial services sector.
