Who you are
You are an experienced legal professional with a strong background in regulatory compliance, particularly in the realm of virtual currencies and digital assets. You have a deep understanding of federal and state regulatory frameworks, including FinCEN, CFPB, NYDFS, and CA DFPI, and you are adept at interpreting evolving regulations to guide product teams effectively. Your experience includes working directly with regulators and industry groups, allowing you to navigate complex legal landscapes with ease.
You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to articulate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Policy, Risk, and Engineering. You are proactive in identifying regulatory challenges and are skilled at developing creative solutions that align innovation with compliance. Your ability to think critically and strategically makes you a valuable asset in shaping the future of money at Block.
What you'll do
In this role, you will serve as the go-to regulatory advisor on all matters related to virtual currency. You will guide product teams on how to launch and scale offerings in compliant and innovative ways, ensuring that all products meet regulatory requirements while fostering creativity. You will be responsible for interpreting and advising on first-of-their-kind products, working closely with various teams to ensure that compliance is integrated into the product development process from the outset.
You will represent Block in discussions with regulators and industry groups, helping to chart the path forward for virtual currency and related developments. Your insights will be crucial in shaping policies that support both innovation and compliance, allowing Block to lead in the financial technology space.
