Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building scalable production systems. You've owned services from design through deployment and have a wealth of experience in debugging complex distributed systems issues. Your deep expertise in Java and Spring allows you to ship high-throughput APIs that handle millions of requests, and you have strong opinions on service architecture, dependency injection, and testing strategies. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment and enjoy mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You understand the importance of security and performance in backend systems and are always looking for ways to optimize and enhance existing solutions. What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer III at Box, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust backend systems that support our Intelligent Content Management platform. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and deliver features that enhance user experience and drive business value. Your role will involve writing clean, maintainable code and conducting code reviews to ensure high-quality standards across the team. You will also be involved in performance tuning and optimization of existing services, ensuring they can handle increasing loads as our user base grows. You will participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the technical direction of the team, helping to shape the future of our platform. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support as they develop their skills and grow within the organization.
