You have extensive experience in embedded systems and a deep understanding of Linux, particularly in optimizing performance for various hardware platforms. Your background includes working with both PC and IoT technologies, and you are adept at problem-solving in fast-paced environments. You are resourceful and articulate, capable of delivering a wide variety of solutions that enhance the user experience on Ubuntu. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively with specialist engineers from major silicon companies, integrating next-generation features and performance enhancements.
You are familiar with the full Linux stack, from kernel development to GUI optimization, and you have a passion for creating a seamless Ubuntu experience. Your technical expertise is complemented by strong communication skills, enabling you to engage with partners and customers effectively. You thrive in a remote work environment and are comfortable leading complex technical engagements that involve complete system architectures from cloud to edge.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms. You will collaborate with partners to deliver an optimized Ubuntu experience, ensuring that the integration meets quality metrics and testing strategies. As a technical lead, you will participate in complex customer engagements, guiding them through the integration of their applications and SDKs with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server. Your responsibilities will also include optimizing applications and building device OS images that enhance performance and user satisfaction.
You will work with cutting-edge operating systems and application technologies, contributing to Canonical's mission of building a better platform with free software.
