Who you are
You have a strong background in Linux systems, particularly in embedded environments, and are familiar with optimizing operating systems for various hardware platforms. Your experience spans from kernel development to user interface design, allowing you to tackle challenges across the entire Linux stack. You are resourceful and articulate, capable of delivering innovative solutions in both PC and IoT technologies. You thrive in collaborative settings, working alongside specialist engineers to integrate next-generation features into Ubuntu. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you enjoy the excitement of working on cutting-edge technology.
Desirable
Experience with Ubuntu or similar Linux distributions is a plus, as is familiarity with IoT devices and server-class hardware. You may also have experience in customer engagement, helping clients integrate their applications and optimize their systems. A passion for free software and open-source projects will resonate well with our team culture.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms. You will collaborate with partners to ensure a delightful and optimized Ubuntu experience on their platforms. Your holistic approach will involve providing inputs on technical plans, testing strategies, and quality metrics. As a technical lead, you will participate in complex customer engagements, addressing complete system architectures from cloud to edge. You will assist customers in integrating their applications, SDKs, and building device OS images while optimizing applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server. Your work will involve using the most advanced operating systems and application technologies available in the enterprise world, contributing to Canonical's mission of building a better platform with free software.
