Overview

ESO is hiring a Senior Security Operations Engineer to lead incident response and ensure the security of their software used by emergency services. You'll work with various teams to implement automated security controls and respond to alerts. This role requires experience in security operations and incident management.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in security operations, with experience in triaging and responding to security incidents — you've successfully led incidents to resolution while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and containment. Your expertise in internal security tools and external data sources allows you to effectively monitor and manage security alerts, ensuring that controls are healthy across the technology estate.

You are passionate about cybersecurity and understand the importance of enabling colleagues to operate securely with minimal constraints — you believe in implementing automated controls and governance to enhance security without hindering productivity. Your ability to assist users in operating securely showcases your commitment to fostering a culture of security awareness within the organization.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for leading security incidents from detection through to resolution, prioritizing response efforts and coordinating with various teams to ensure effective containment and investigation. You will review and respond to alerts generated by internal security tools, ensuring that all incidents are triaged and actioned promptly. Your role will also involve conducting root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and prevent future incidents.

You will collaborate closely with the wider Security, IT, development, and platform teams to implement security best practices and enhance the overall security posture of ESO. Your contributions will help shape the security strategy and ensure that the organization remains resilient against evolving threats. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior team members and share your knowledge to help build a strong security culture within the organization.
