Careem is seeking a Senior Data Scientist II to drive AI transformation and enhance user experiences. You'll leverage skills in Python, SQL, and Spark to build AI models that optimize decision-making and operational efficiencies. This role requires significant experience in data science and analytics.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in data science, with a strong background in building AI models that drive business value. Your expertise in Python and SQL allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively, while your familiarity with Spark and Hive enables you to work with big data technologies seamlessly. You understand the importance of data-driven decision-making and have a proven track record of applying data science techniques to solve complex problems.
You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and thrive on collaboration with cross-functional teams. Your experience with business intelligence tools like Tableau demonstrates your ability to visualize data and communicate insights effectively. You have a keen interest in AI and are excited about the potential to innovate and transform user experiences through data.
Desirable
Experience with geospatial data processing is a plus, as it can enhance your contributions to the team. Familiarity with additional database technologies such as Oracle, SAP, or Teradata will also be beneficial in this role. You are a curious problem-solver who enjoys exploring new technologies and methodologies to improve processes and outcomes.
What you'll do
As a Senior Data Scientist II at Careem, you will play a pivotal role in the AI transformation of the Careem app, focusing on personalization and user engagement strategies. You will collaborate with top data science talent in the region to build and implement AI models that optimize user experiences and operational efficiencies. Your work will directly impact how Careem engages with its customers and enhances their overall experience.
You will be responsible for developing a long-term vision for customer acquisition and engagement, leveraging data to inform strategies and decisions. This includes analyzing user behavior, identifying trends, and making recommendations based on your findings. You will also work on automating workflows and streamlining operations to ensure that Careem continues to innovate and lead in the market.
In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will mentor junior data scientists and contribute to building a strong data science culture within the organization. You will participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and collaborate with other teams to ensure that data science initiatives align with broader business goals.
