Carta is seeking a Manager for their Tax Delivery team to oversee US Federal tax reviews for venture capital clients. This role requires strong analytical skills and experience in tax compliance.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a solid background in tax compliance and management, ideally with experience in the venture capital or private equity sectors. Your analytical skills are top-notch, allowing you to navigate complex tax regulations and provide insightful guidance to clients. You understand the importance of accuracy and timeliness in tax filings, ensuring that all submissions meet regulatory standards.
Your communication skills are exceptional, enabling you to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams. You are adept at building relationships with venture capitalists and fund managers, understanding their unique needs and challenges. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
You are detail-oriented and possess a strong understanding of US Federal tax laws, particularly as they pertain to private funds. Your ability to leverage technology in tax processes, such as using proprietary tax engines, sets you apart in this role. You are committed to continuous learning and staying updated on changes in tax legislation that may impact your clients.
Desirable
Experience with tax software and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with fund administration processes. A background in finance or accounting can enhance your effectiveness in this role, providing a broader perspective on the financial implications of tax decisions.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the tax delivery process for Carta's Fund Tax team, ensuring that tax returns for venture capital clients are prepared accurately and filed on time. You will leverage Carta's proprietary tax engine to streamline the filing process, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. Your responsibilities will include reviewing tax returns, providing insights on tax strategies, and advising clients on compliance matters.
You will collaborate closely with clients, understanding their specific needs and providing tailored solutions to help them achieve their financial goals. Your role will involve regular communication with fund managers and CFOs, ensuring they are informed about their tax obligations and any changes in regulations that may affect them.
You will also work with internal teams to improve tax processes and contribute to the development of new tools and resources that enhance the overall client experience. Your insights will be valuable in shaping the future of tax delivery at Carta, as you help create a more connected ERP platform for private markets.
