You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with a strong focus on building production systems that scale effectively. You are comfortable owning backend services end-to-end, integrating data from multiple internal systems, and ensuring reliability and correctness in production environments. You possess deep expertise in designing and building backend APIs and gRPC services, ensuring they are well-architected and maintainable. You understand the importance of observability and reliability in backend services, and you have experience working with large-scale datasets to power internal product APIs and customer-facing applications. You thrive in environments where you can take ownership of your work and contribute to the overall success of the team.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms and familiarity with data integration techniques will be beneficial. A background in threat intelligence or cybersecurity can also enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Censys, you will design, build, and own backend APIs and gRPC services that integrate data from various internal teams and systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that these services are cleanly architected and capable of delivering real-time, high-fidelity visibility to customers. Your role will involve collaborating closely with other engineers and product teams to ensure that the backend architecture supports the growth of Censys' Exposure Management solution.

You will also engage in production monitoring and incident response, ensuring that the services you build are reliable and performant. Your contributions will directly impact the quality of the data and insights provided to Censys' customers, including global governments and Fortune 500 companies. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge with the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
