Job Description

Join us as a Senior CRM Specialist

Checkatrade is on a journey from being a lead-gen subscription business to a product-led platform powering the future of UK trades. CRM sits at the heart of this transformation - making sure trades don’t just join, but engage, upgrade, and stay loyal.

As a CRM Specialist, you’ll be the hands-on builder in our CRM team. Working directly in Braze, you’ll create, QA, and launch campaigns across email, SMS, push, and in-app channels. Every campaign you deliver helps users engage with our tools, and see real value from Checkatrade.

This is also a launchpad role. You’ll learn from senior team members how to build automated journeys, apply data-driven marketing, and design lifecycle flows at scale. With the right drive and curiosity, this role is a stepping stone to becoming a CRM Lead.

This is a hands-on role with ownership. You’ll be in Braze building campaigns, but you’ll also be accountable for performance of those journeys, managing stakeholders and finding new ways to power engagement.

Forget long lists, here’s what you’ll actually spend your time on:

Campaign Build & Delivery

  • Build and launch CRM campaigns and journeys in Braze across email, SMS, Push, and in-app channels.

  • Use established templates, checklists, and governance frameworks to deliver high-quality campaigns

  • QA campaigns thoroughly to ensure accuracy, deliverability, and brand alignment

Lifecycle & Journey Execution

  • Build and maintain lifecycle journeys such as onboarding, engagement, upgrades, and retention flows

  • Support experimentation through A/B testing and optimisation of messaging, timing, and channels

  • Take increasing ownership of journeys as your confidence and capability grow

Process, Quality & Governance

  • Maintain campaign calendars and manage delivery timelines, clearly communicating with stakeholders at all levels

  • Uphold data privacy, consent, and compliance standards across all communications

Learning, Growth & Progression

  • Develop hands-on skills in automation, segmentation, and personalisation

  • Gain exposure to CRM performance analysis, testing frameworks, and attribution basics

  • Take on progressively more complex builds and responsibilities over time

  • Progress toward CRM Lead responsibilities as part of a clear development pathway

It’s not about ticking every box. It’s about turning up curious, ready to crack on. You’ll do well here if you bring:

  • Experience using any CRM or marketing automation tool. Braze experience is a bonus - but Salesforce, HubSpot, Adobe, Customer.io or similar is absolutely fine.

  • A proactive, collaborative approach. You enjoy working closely with your team, sharing ideas and helping uncover opportunities to improve.

  • Strong attention to detail. You take pride in clean builds, error-free campaigns and a polished customer experience.

  • A hunger to grow your CRM toolkit. Whether it’s automation, data, journey design or experimentation - you’re excited to learn and expand your skillset.

  • A sense of ownership. You don’t just press send. You care about the outcome, the impact and the craft.

We believe great work deserves great rewards. Here’s just a taste:

  • Competitive salary + annual bonus

  • Health, well-being and learning support

  • Gym membership, Smart Tech Scheme and Cycle Scheme

  • Birthday/Special day leave

  • Buy & sell holiday scheme

  • 1 week’s paid charity leave and much more!

How we’ll get to know each other:

  • Screening call with one of our Talent Acquisition Partners

  • 1st stage interview with our CRM Manager

  • 2nd stage interview will be a case study with our CRM Manager and VP Consumer Growth

If you require any reasonable adjustments during our interview process, please discuss them with your Talent Acquisition Partner.

If this sounds like the place where you can do your best work, we’d love to hear from you, even if you don’t tick every box
