You have a solid background in backend engineering with experience in building production systems that scale effectively. You are proficient in Ruby and JavaScript, and you understand the intricacies of both SQL and NoSQL databases. Your experience includes working with message queues for asynchronous tasks, which allows you to design robust and efficient systems. You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering with product and design teams to create innovative features that enhance user experience. You are customer-centric and always seek to improve the product based on user feedback and data-driven insights. You are also comfortable monitoring and resolving production issues, ensuring that the services you own are reliable and performant.
Desirable
Experience with cloud platforms and familiarity with microservices architecture would be a plus. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within your team.
What you'll do
As a Backend Software Engineer II at Checkr, you will own the product development of features from design through implementation to release. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to architect and implement new features that align with the company's mission of building trusted workplaces. Your role will involve designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving our products to ensure they are scalable and secure. You will deliver code that can support hundreds of thousands of transactions daily, and you will be responsible for monitoring, investigating, triaging, and resolving production issues as they arise. You will bring a customer-centric mindset to your work, ensuring that the features you develop meet the needs of our users and contribute to a fairer future for all.
