Who you are

You have a strong background in site reliability engineering (SRE) with a focus on improving the stability and reliability of cloud-based systems. Your experience includes working with distributed systems and understanding how they scale and interact. You are proactive in identifying risks and opportunities for remediation, and you thrive in high-paced environments where you can own and drive complex problems to resolution.

You possess deep expertise in cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and have hands-on experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. Your familiarity with database management, especially PostgreSQL, allows you to optimize performance and ensure data integrity across systems. You are comfortable working in a Linux environment and have a solid understanding of incident management processes.

What you'll do

In this role, you will build a comprehensive understanding of ClickUp's systems, focusing on their behavior, scalability, and failure modes. You will own and improve the incident management process across the engineering organization, ensuring that incidents are handled efficiently and effectively. You will define service level objectives (SLOs) and service level indicators (SLIs) to measure the performance and reliability of the systems you manage.

You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to implement best practices for reliability and performance, participating in a follow-the-sun model to ensure continuous support. Your role will involve driving initiatives that enhance system reliability, including capacity planning and performance tuning. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a culture of reliability within the team.
