Your expertise in Java and Python allows you to build robust APIs that serve millions of users effectively.

You possess a strong understanding of RESTful services and have experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes — you know how to deploy and manage applications in cloud environments, optimizing for performance and cost. Your background in working with large-scale systems means you are familiar with the challenges of maintaining high availability and low latency.

You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working with frontend engineers and product teams to deliver seamless user experiences — you understand the importance of cross-functional collaboration and are comfortable discussing technical concepts with non-technical stakeholders. What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Cloudinary, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the core image transformation engine that powers the platform — your work will directly impact the performance and scalability of services that handle billions of requests monthly. You will collaborate closely with both frontend and backend engineers to design and implement new features that enhance user engagement and satisfaction.

You will also be involved in managing over 300 production cloud servers, ensuring they operate efficiently and reliably — this includes monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements based on user feedback and analytics. Your role will require you to stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in backend development, contributing to the team's knowledge base and mentoring junior engineers.
