Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building scalable systems that handle complex functionalities. Your expertise in Python and Java allows you to design and implement robust backend solutions that support high-performance applications. You understand the intricacies of REST APIs and have experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. You are comfortable taking ownership of features from design through to delivery, ensuring that they meet both performance and scalability requirements. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions. You are committed to continuous learning and improvement, always seeking to enhance the capabilities of the systems you work on.

What you'll do

In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of features for the agentic chat loop in North, Cohere's AI workspace platform. You will design, build, and maintain scalable features that enhance user experience and performance. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with product managers and designers to define requirements, implementing features, and conducting thorough testing to ensure quality. You will also monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, applying your problem-solving skills to maintain high availability and reliability. As part of a diverse team of engineers, you will contribute to the overall mission of scaling intelligence to serve humanity through innovative AI solutions.
